Customer Target Calculator

See how many paying customers a revenue target implies when you already know average revenue per customer.

Decision: How many customers do I need to hit this revenue target?

This tool runs in your browser. FounderMage does not send the numbers you enter to our servers.

Result

  • Customers needed

    Customers needed: 600

How to read the result

The customer count is the arithmetic of the two inputs. It does not say those customers exist or can be acquired.

Calculated facts

Totals and thresholds come only from the values on this page. They describe the math, not what you should do.

Still a judgment call

Risk, timing, customers, and judgment stay outside the calculator. A stronger number can still be the wrong path.

Methodology

Customers needed are revenue target ÷ average revenue per customer when ARPU is positive.

Assumptions

  • ARPU is the average you expect, not an industry benchmark.
  • Every counted customer produces that ARPU.

Examples

Subscription ARPU

$120,000 revenue at $200 ARPU is 600 customers.

How to use this tool

  1. Enter the revenue target and average revenue per customer.
  2. Read customers needed. Ceiling the result if you need a whole-customer count.

Limitations

  • Churn, discounts, and cohort mix are omitted unless baked into ARPU.
  • Not a sales forecast.

Questions

Is this new customers or total customers?
It is the count implied by revenue ÷ ARPU. Whether they are new or existing is your interpretation.
What if ARPU is zero?
A customer count cannot produce revenue. The result stays undefined.
